He received his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University and his Bachelor Degree in mathematics from Duke University. Von Ahn is the founder of reCAPTCHA, which was sold to Google in 2009. reCAPTCHA is a system that helps to digitize books while also protecting websites from bots attempting to access restricted areas.

Marc Andreessen | Netscape

Andreessen is best known for being the co-author of Mosaic, the first widely-used web browser, and founder of Netscape.
