Ken Thompson | UNIX

He is known for his invention of the UNIX operating system at AT&T's Bell Labs with Dennis Ritchie, Brian Kernighan, Douglas McIlroy, and Joe Ossanna. Thompson is also known for developing the B programming language, which was a precursor to the C programming language that he invented with Dennis Ritchie. Thompson and Ritchie received the 1998 National Medal of Technology for their invention of the UNIX operating system and the C programming language.

Kevin Mitnick was born on August 16, 1963 in Los Angeles, California. He is perhaps most known for being the most wanted criminal computer hacker in American history, albeit, controversially so. Mitnick is now a computer security consultant and author.

He appears regularly on the video podcast Diggnation with co-host Alex Albrecht on Revision3.com, another start-up for the distribution of tech-centric video podcasts.
